Bruce Christie Horses is located just north of Cowley, Alberta, in the stunning foothills of Southwestern Alberta. There, Bruce and his wife, Stacey, run a full-time colt starting business while maintaining a busy clinic schedule.
With over 35 years of experience working with and starting horses, Bruce has dedicated his life to understanding and developing young horses. His journey began on his grandfather’s ranch and led to an accomplished rodeo career in tie-down and team roping. After stepping away from rodeo, Bruce spent several years working on various ranches, gaining hands-on experience that he often describes as learning “through the seat of my pants.”
Over the years, Bruce has absorbed a wealth of knowledge from the horses themselves and has sought out opportunities to learn from exceptional horsemen and horsewomen. These experiences have shaped his philosophy and given him a deep appreciation for the foundational work that sets young horses up for success.
Bruce is honoured to be part of this year’s Heart of the Horse and looks forward to sharing his expertise and passion for colt starting.
